Chapman & Hall/CRC Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Series

About the Series

Artificial intelligence (AI) is all around us. From driver-less cars to game winning computers to fraud protection, AI is already involved in many aspects of life, and its impact will only continue to grow, in the future. Many of the world’s most valuable companies are investing heavily in AI research and development, and not a day goes by without news of cutting edge breakthroughs in AI and robotics. As the field of AI and Robotics continues to grow, the timely dissemination of emerging research and developments is increasingly important. This new book series serves as a publication venue for innovative technical contributions in AI and robotics, with coverage of both theoretical AI research and applied AI and robotics.

We are looking for a broad range of textbooks, reference books, and handbooks in the following areas: Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, Affective Computing, Deep Learning/Neural Networks, Natural Language Processing, AI Safety, Machine Ethics, Superintelligence, Technological Singularity, Multi-Agent Systems, Programming Languages for AI, Robot Navigation, Robotic Applications, and more. We are also willing to consider other relevant topics that may be proposed by potential contributors.

For more information or to submit a book proposal for the series, please contact Randi Cohen, Publisher, CS and IT ([email protected]) or Elliott Morsia, Editor, CS ([email protected]).

Edited By Mazin Gilbert
October 02, 2018

Artificial Intelligence for Autonomous Networks introduces the autonomous network by juxtaposing two unique technologies and communities: Networking and AI. The book reviews the technologies behind AI and software-defined network/network function virtualization, highlighting the exciting ...

Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security

Artificial Intelligence Safety and Security

1st Edition

Edited By Roman V. Yampolskiy
August 23, 2018

The history of robotics and artificial intelligence in many ways is also the history of humanity’s attempts to control such technologies. From the Golem of Prague to the military robots of modernity, the debate continues as to what degree of independence such entities should have and how to make ...

Behavior Trees in Robotics and AI An Introduction

Behavior Trees in Robotics and AI: An Introduction

1st Edition

By Michele Colledanchise, Petter Ögren
July 24, 2018

Behavior Trees (BTs) provide a way to structure the behavior of an artificial agent such as a robot or a non-player character in a computer game. Traditional design methods, such as finite state machines, are known to produce brittle behaviors when complexity increases, making it very hard to add ...

Artificial Intelligence With an Introduction to Machine Learning, Second Edition

Artificial Intelligence: With an Introduction to Machine Learning, Second Edition

2nd Edition

By Richard E. Neapolitan, Xia Jiang
May 16, 2018

The first edition of this popular textbook, Contemporary Artificial Intelligence, provided an accessible and student friendly introduction to AI. This fully revised and expanded update, Artificial Intelligence: With an Introduction to Machine Learning, Second Edition, retains the same accessibility...

Artificial Intelligence and the Two Singularities

Artificial Intelligence and the Two Singularities

1st Edition

By Calum Chace
April 26, 2018

The science of AI was born a little over 60 years ago, but for most of that time its achievements were modest. In 2012 it experienced a big bang, when a branch of statistics called Machine Learning (and a sub-branch called Deep Learning) was applied to it. Now machines have surpassed humans in ...
